Our road trip to Redding

Last weekend we went up to Redding and it took us 9 hours to get there.  We stayed in a hotel up there and saw a family of Swans and the were so cute, so cute that my little sister tried to pet the baby swan.  Lets just say the momma swan wasn't to happy and tried to bite my little sis. On the way back we left the hotel at 8:30 am and stopped off a few times to get some food and gas but even after that we were still supposed to get home around 4 until we were driving home on the 5 and we were on the farthest side to the right when the tire popped and the car went lopsided we had to cut all of the lanes to get to the side.  The worst part was we were on the side of an on ramp and these big semi-trucks kept zooming by and it was scarring the crud out of my Oma (that's German for grandmother).  She was so nervous that she made my sister sit on the other side of the car so if we were hit it wound be less damage done to her, the only problem was I was sitting on the other side so my Oma had her sit on top of me.  Here's a picture of my little sis, Kaylee!

My second real job

My second real job was on another movie set.  After the movie Alyce i was "recruited" to take pictures on another low budget film called Besties.  The first day i showed up the second camera operator didn't show.  The DP (Director of Photography) knew that my dad had been fooling around with the film side of production and asked him to shoot the movie with him.  How exiting, but it was also a lot of hard work.  On that job i became the assistant to the camera operator, the photographer, and a background actress!  At the end of the job Linda (the producer who hired me) gave my dad a check and said it was for us to split!  So that was my first paycheck on set.  By the way it was $100 so I'm pretty happy with that.

My first real job!

My dad is a photographer and when i showed interest he tought me a few things about lighting, focus, and having an "eye" for interesting pictures.  He takes photo advertisements for a film company called "Clairmont Camera".  While on set with my dad taking behind the scenes pictures for my dad I took a few snap shots of the talent.  When the talents family came on set I took a few pictures for them and when my dad emailed them the pictures the wife, Linda, loved them so much she invited me to come take pictures on a film she was producing and I agreed to.  That was my first real job!  The pictures came out great and I'm so excited to find out whats next.  You can check out the photos on www.alycemovie.com.  The first picture on the unit photography tab was taken by me!  Most of the photos were taken by me but not all of them.
